LEGAL AGREEMENT

Terms of Service

These terms explain how you may use 1app.energy, what we provide, what remains your responsibility, and the limits that apply to connected-device software.

By accessing or using the service, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use our software or services.

1. The Service

1app.energy provides software for supported homes to monitor renewable-energy data, view tariff and usage information, and, where supported and enabled by you, send authorised commands to compatible devices through third-party provider APIs.

We are a software service. We do not install, certify, repair or physically control your solar panels, inverter, battery, EV charger, heat pump, electrical wiring or meter.

2. Account Eligibility and Authority

By using the service, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You have authority to create the account, connect the home or installation, and provide any device, tariff or account credentials you submit.
  • The information you provide is accurate and kept up to date.
  • You will not use bots, scraping, abuse, security probing or automated access unless we have expressly authorised it.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract our source code except where law expressly allows it.
  • Use the service for unlawful, unsafe, abusive or fraudulent purposes.
  • Share your login credentials with unauthorised people.
  • Interfere with, overload, scan, scrape or attempt to disrupt the service, its users, or its connected providers.

4. Third-Party Services and Hardware

External dependencies and Unofficial APIs

The service depends on providers and hardware platforms you connect. Important Disclaimer: 1app.energy has an official Solis partnership. Daikin heat-pump access remains approval-pending. We are an independent interface for SunSynk, LuxPowerTek, myenergi, Ohme, Hypervolt, Octopus Energy, E.ON, EDF, British Gas, ScottishPower, and other third-party hardware or energy-supplier platforms unless explicitly stated.

The service relies on third-party APIs that may change without notice, which could cause integrations to stop working partially or entirely at any time. While we will make reasonable efforts to maintain compatibility, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service for unofficial API connections. We do not control their uptime, API behaviour, eligibility rules, pricing, tariffs, warranties or terms.

API Key Revocation:You may revoke your API keys at any time via your hardware manufacturer's portal. If an API key is revoked, 1app.energy immediately loses access and all automated control for that device will stop.

Hardware and Grid responsibility

You remain responsible for safe installation, maintenance, manufacturer instructions, warranty limits, DNO/export-limit requirements, tariff terms and any other contract that applies to your home energy equipment. You must ensure that using third-party automated control does not void your hardware warranties or home insurance policies.

5. Device Control and Safety

No emergency or safety-critical control

1app.energy is not an emergency, life-safety, grid-safety or electrical-protection system. Connected providers may reject, delay, change or fail to apply commands. You should keep manufacturer apps, device-local settings and installer support available for safety-critical or urgent actions.

We may skip, block, delay or undo a control action where our software detects stale data, missing permissions, provider errors, disconnected devices, conflicting controls, safety limits or other conditions that make the action unsuitable.

6. No Energy, Electrical or Financial Advice

The service provides software tools and information. It is not a substitute for advice from a qualified electrician, installer, DNO, energy supplier, tax adviser, financial adviser or legal adviser.

Any predictions, optimisations, or savings figures shown are estimates and not guarantees. Savings, export revenue, battery behaviour and tariff outcomes depend on market volatility, your equipment efficiency, provider data, weather, tariffs and eligibility.

7. Intellectual Property and Feedback

Our intellectual property: We own or license the service, software, dashboard designs, documentation, content, models and other materials that make up 1app.energy. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for your own household or authorised installation.

Your feedback: If you send us suggestions, ideas or comments, you allow us to use them to improve or market the service without paying you. This does not give us ownership of your personal data, device data, brand, photographs or private materials.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly accurate at all times.

Because energy and telemetry data displayed in 1app.energy is retrieved from third-party APIs and vendor systems, it may occasionally be delayed, estimated, or out of sync. Please do not rely solely on our dashboard for critical energy management or safety decisions.

9. Liability

Service limits

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses, loss of expected savings, loss of export revenue, provider outages, tariff changes, manufacturer API failures, hardware faults, conflicting third-party controls, or losses caused by information you provided incorrectly.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of your statutory rights, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Where the law allows liability to be limited, our total liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the fees you paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim or £50.

Events beyond our control

We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including power cuts, internet failures, provider outages, cyber incidents affecting third parties, extreme weather, industrial action or changes in law.

10. Your Responsibility for Misuse

You may be responsible for losses, claims or costs caused by your misuse of the service, your breach of these terms, unauthorised provider credentials you submit, or unsafe instructions you give where responsibility can lawfully rest with you. You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or legal costs arising from such misuse.

11. Subscriptions, Trials and Payments

Any paid plan, trial, renewal, price, billing frequency and cancellation route will be shown before payment or in the customer-portal flow. You can cancel a paid plan through the dashboard or by contacting support. Unless the checkout flow says otherwise, cancellation stops future renewals and paid access continues until the end of the current billing period.

Statutory cancellation, refund and consumer rights apply where required by law. If a digital service starts during a cooling-off period, any effect on refunds will be explained where the law requires it.

12. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend, restrict or terminate access where necessary to protect security, prevent abuse, comply with law, respond to provider restrictions, handle non-payment, or prevent unsafe use. You may terminate your account through account deletion where available or by contacting support. Upon termination, you are responsible for exporting any needed data, as we have no obligation to maintain your data post-termination.

13. Electronic Communications

We may send service notices, support messages, legal updates and billing communications electronically. If a law requires another method of communication, we will use a method that satisfies that requirement.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the service, by email, or by another appropriate method. If you do not agree to updated terms, you should stop using the service and cancel any paid plan before the change takes effect.

15. Geographic Scope

The service is designed primarily for the UK and European energy markets. If you use the service outside these regions, certain tariffs, grid integrations, and automated features may not function correctly. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the service complies with local laws and grid regulations in your jurisdiction.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

Jurisdiction and informal resolution

If you have a complaint or dispute, please contact us first at support@1app.energy so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any disputes, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live.
