Carl runs Solis, Fogstar and Zappi around Octopus Go.

A 6 kW Solis hybrid inverter. Two Fogstar batteries. A MyEnergi Zappi Glo for the car. Octopus Go in the background. 1app.energy ties them together so Carl can see — and let Autopilot run — the whole home from one place.

In Carl's words

Good hardware. One operating view.

I am using 1app.energy to control my Fogstar batteries, a Solis inverter and a MyEnergi Zappi on the Octopus Go tariff. I'm using the Autopilot smart control which optimises battery charging, home coverage and grid export all based on my tariff and battery level. It would have been very hard to set up all of the separate parts to be anywhere near as efficient as this is.

The kit behind the dashboard

What's actually installed at Carl's house.

Each piece of hardware shows up in the same operating view — so Carl never has to flip between four different apps to understand what the home is doing.

6 kW Solis hybrid inverter

Solar production and battery state from the Solis show up in the same view as home demand and grid flow — no need to open the Solis app to check what's happening.

Two Fogstar batteries

Battery state of charge, charging behaviour and reserve are visible throughout the day, so Carl can see how storage is being used at a glance.

myenergi Zappi Glo

EV charging sits next to solar, battery and the grid in the same dashboard — not buried in a separate charger app.

Octopus Go

The overnight cheap window drives when the system imports, when the battery charges and when the EV plugs in.

What this means for you

If your home looks like Carl's, this is what you get.

Carl's setup is a typical UK home: solar with a hybrid inverter, a battery bank, an EV charger and a smart tariff. Here's what 1app.energy does with those pieces.

One app instead of four

Solis, Fogstar, MyEnergi and Octopus Go all surface in a single dashboard. No more bouncing between apps to check what the house is doing.

Autopilot does the timing

Carl's setup charges during the Octopus Go cheap window and decides when to discharge or export — automatically, based on tariff and battery level.

Clear daily visibility

Current tariff, battery state, home demand, grid import and daily cost — all on one screen, easy to scan in seconds.

Works with the kit you already have

No new hardware needed. Carl's existing Solis inverter, two Fogstar batteries and Zappi Glo all plug into the same operating view.

Honest note:automation depends on supported devices, verified tariff data and the settings the customer enables. Carl's story shows one real setup; exact behaviour depends on the hardware, tariff and onboarding review.
