Tariff rates, eligibility rules and device integrations change over time. Unless a section says otherwise, numeric examples in this article are illustrative worked examples rather than a quoted supplier promise.

If you install solar, batteries, EV chargers or heat pumps, you probably already know the routine. A customer calls, something "isn't working", and you start logging in to a manufacturer portal. Then another one for the EV charger. Then you ask the customer for a screenshot of their tariff.

1app.energy now has an installer pilot built for exactly that moment. Installer companies can see the homes their customers choose to share, across brands, in one dashboard. It is free during the pilot and access is view-only.

This article explains what you get, what you need, how it works and where the limits are.

## The quick version

- **One login for every brand** your customers have connected to 1app.energy, instead of a portal per manufacturer.
- **Homes that need attention come first**, for example when a device has gone offline or its data is delayed.
- **The whole home in one view**: solar, battery, EV charging, heat pump and tariff, where the home has supported devices connected.
- **View-only**: you cannot change a customer's system, and you keep using the manufacturer's tools for repairs and detailed fault diagnosis.
- **Customer permission always**: each homeowner chooses to share with your company and can stop sharing at any time.
- **Free during the pilot.**

## Why installers use it

### Stop juggling manufacturer portals

Most installers fit more than one brand. Every brand has its own portal, its own login and its own way of showing the same information. 1app.energy brings the systems your customers have connected into one list, with one login for your team.

### Fewer wasted site visits

Before you drive out, you can check readings, connection status and recent history remotely. If a device has simply dropped off Wi-Fi, or the data shows the system is working normally, you may be able to solve it with a phone call. When a visit really is needed, you arrive knowing more.

### Shorter, better support calls

When a customer calls, you already see their solar, battery, EV charging and tariff in one place. You do not need to ask them to find screenshots or read numbers off an inverter display.

### See problems before you're asked

Homes with a device offline or data delayed stand out at the top of your list. You can get in touch before the customer notices, which is a very different conversation from answering a complaint.

### Customers who get more from their system

Homeowners use 1app.energy to see their whole home in one place and, where [Smart Control](/smart-controls) is available and switched on, to schedule batteries around their tariff. A system that keeps delivering value is a system your customer is happy with.

### Aftercare that wins referrals

Installs often end at handover. Staying connected to the homes you install, with the customer's permission, makes good aftercare practical, and good aftercare is how installers earn reviews and referrals.

## Which brands it works with

Installer access shows whatever supported devices each home has connected to 1app.energy. Today that includes:

| Type | Brands |
| --- | --- |
| Inverters and batteries | [Solis](/integrations/solis); [LuxpowerTek](/integrations/luxpowertek), [Sunsynk](/integrations/sunsynk) and [SigEnergy](/integrations/sigenergy) (beta) |
| EV chargers | [myenergi zappi](/integrations/myenergi-zappi), [Ohme](/integrations/ohme), [Hypervolt](/integrations/hypervolt), [Pod Point](/integrations/podpoint) |
| Hot water | [myenergi eddi](/integrations/myenergi-eddi) |
| Heat pumps | [Daikin](/integrations/daikin); [Mitsubishi Electric](/integrations/mitsubishi) (monitoring only) |
| Tariffs | [Octopus Energy](/integrations/octopus-energy), [EDF](/integrations/edf-energy) |

What you can see depends on each home's devices and the data each provider makes available. Beta integrations may show less detail. See the full, current list on our [integrations page](/integrations), and mention the brands you install when you apply.

## What you need

To join the pilot, you need:

1. **An installer company** that fits or supports home solar, batteries, EV chargers or heat pumps in the UK.
2. **A company email** that we can approve and send your sign-in invitation to.
3. **Your company website**, so we can check who you are.
4. **Your accreditations, if you have them.** The application asks you to tick MCS certified, 18th Edition qualified, and RECC, HIES or GGF membership. These help us review your company quickly.
5. **Customers who use 1app.energy** with supported devices connected. You send them your invite link and they choose whether to share.

## How it works

1. **Apply.** Fill in the short form on the [installer page](/installer#apply). It takes about a minute.
2. **We approve your company.** Once approved, your nominated email receives a sign-in invitation.
3. **Sign in securely.** Use your approved email and the one-time code we send to it. There is no password to manage.
4. **Customers share their homes.** Copy your invite link from the installer portal and send it to each customer by text or email. They confirm with one tap and can stop sharing at any time.

Applying does not create an installer account or give access to any customer home. Access only starts when a customer chooses to share.

## Privacy and customer control

Installer access is designed around the homeowner's permission:

- you only see homes whose owners choose to share them with your company, even if you installed their equipment;
- access is view-only, so nothing you do in 1app.energy changes a customer's settings;
- homeowners can stop sharing at any time from their account;
- personal data is handled under UK data protection law, as set out in our [Privacy Policy](/legal/privacy) and [security practices](/legal/security).

## What it is not

To set clear expectations:

- **It is not a replacement for manufacturer tools.** Firmware updates, commissioning, detailed fault codes and warranty claims stay with the manufacturer's own portal and support.
- **It does not control customer systems on your behalf.** Smart Control is a homeowner feature, switched on and off by the homeowner.
- **It does not guarantee savings.** Results depend on each home, its devices and its tariff.

## Questions installers ask

**How much does it cost?**
Installer access is free during the pilot.

**Can I change a customer's system?**
No. Installer access is view-only.

**Will I automatically see every home I've installed?**
No. You only see homes whose owners choose to share them with your company.

**Do I need MCS to apply?**
The form asks about MCS and other accreditations so we can review your application. Tick the ones that apply to your company.

**What if a customer does not use 1app.energy yet?**
They can create an account and connect their supported devices, then accept your invite link.

**How do I get help?**
Email [info@1app.energy](mailto:info@1app.energy) and we'll get back to you.
